Grade Level/Discipline: I am not currently teaching, but am working on my Master's of Arts in Education. I currently work as a case manager at a family homeless shelter. My intention is to teach upper elementary or middle school students. I have yet to observe in a middle school classroom (I'll be doing that this fall), so I should have a better idea then about what grade I'd like to teach.

Few Facts about myself:

  1. Fact 1: I registered for 4 trail races this past winter to force myself to run outside in the cold. I knew I couldn't show up unprepared to run 12 miles in the snow!
  2. Fact 2: I don't know my cell phone number. I rarely turn it on and maybe make one call on it per month.
  3. Fact 3: I enjoy cooking and finding new recipes.

What I'd like to learn or get out of this course: I hope to become more familiar with how I can use technology to reach students in my future classroom. Taking this course as on online class is a perfect experience for me. It certainly forces me to experience online and digital learning first hand.
My favorite game(s): I love playing pinball, but don't have my own machine. Maybe someday, but then I'd have to find a place to keep it. It might look a bit out of place in my living room... Other than that, I enjoy trivia games, playing cards, or Cranium. I really like most board games and get together with friends to play fairly often.
